NE tops in cyber crime victims

Kohima, Sep. 16 (EMN): With the internet users from Northeast region higher than the rest of the country, the corresponding number of victims falling prey to cyber crimes also topped the list. This was stated by Limasenla Longkumer, trainer and legal aid counsel of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), while speaking at a seminar on cybercrime at Kohima today.
Longkumer informed that victims of cyber crimes were higher from the Northeast region because ‘we are an ignorant society.’ She also highlighted in the brief on the Information Technology Act 2000 which was further amended in 2008, and the legal implications of cyber related crimes.
