The Cork-based retail company Musgrave Group have been targeted in a cyber attack.
The company owns Centra, Mace and Supervalu stores across Ireland.
They confirmed today that cyber criminals have attempted to steal customers credit and debit card numbers and expiry dates but not cardholder names, ccv numbers or pin numbers.
The 106 Mace shops, 81 Centra outlets and 36 Supervalu stores in Northern Ireland.
A company spokesperson said that there was ‘no evidence date had been stolen’.
The company have encouraged any concerned shoppers to check their bank statements ‘as a precautionary measure’.
