Woman jailed after using series of male aliases in cyber stalking campaign

A woman who used male aliases to pursue online relationships with ten women has been jailed for 22 months for cyber stalking.

Adele Rennie admitted using a host of invented aliases to carry out a series of stalking and sexual offences, a breach of the data protection act and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The former nurse used the names David Graham, David Crolla and Davie, Marco and Matthew Mancini to pursue online relationships with ten women through various social media sites, dating websites and apps over a four year period, the Crown Office said.

She often reused the same storyline and characters, referencing the same names and using the same photos in each interaction and in some instances she would call and speak to her victims using a voice changing app.

Rennie would arrange to meet her victims and then cancel at the last moment, often with

Man jailed for possession of child porn has term extended after more images found

A MAN SERVING a sentence for possession of child pornography has had his term extended by 18 months after further images and videos recovered in the investigation were analysed.

James Clarke (62) received a ten years imprisonment with the final two years suspended in 2013 after admitting possession and distribution of child pornography. He was due for release in January.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard the material in the 2013 sentencing hearing was considered so serious that it had been “fast tracked” through analysis at the Garda Cyber Crime Bureau.

The material in today’s case was also retrieved during the garda investigation into Clarke but analysis of it was delayed for a number of years because of a “backlog” at the unit.

Clarke, formerly of Devlis Cottage, Ballyhaunis, Mayo, pleaded guilty to possession of 785 images of child pornography on devices at his address in Mayo in January 2012 and 1009 images and three

At a previous hearing a prosecution barrister had told the court that Kennedy had used the dark web to try and buy a gun from two undercover police officers.

The court was told Kennedy had made contact with a man on the dark web called ‘Ally’ who he believed could provide him with a firearm “but who was in fact an undercover police operative”.

Kennedy later met one of the undercover officers at Annadale Embankment to buy the firearm in

POLICE are advising parents to play close attention to their children’s internet activity after recent cyber bullying incidents in the West Devon area.

Police have said there has been an increase of cyber bullying online, including one incident where a YouTube video was set up and broadcast by children under ten-years-old, which showed them telling another child of similar age to commit suicide.

Due to the nature of the incident and the age of the children no further information can be shared of this particular crime but police want to take the opportunity to remind parents to keep a close eye on their children’s activity on the internet.
