Former NBA Star Ray Allen Alleged Victim of Cyber-Stalking

New York, NY(Law Firm Newswire) January 3, 2018 – As reported in the New York Post, Ray Allen, a former star of the NBA, claimed he is a victim of “cat fishing,” and has requested that a court dismiss a case in which he is alleged to have stalked a person he met online.

Last November, Allen filed an emergency motion in Orange County, Florida, one day after Bryant Coleman informed the court that he is being stalked by Allen. However, Allen maintains that Coleman is the individual who is guilty of stalking.

According to the motion that was filed on behalf of Allen, Coleman posed as a number of attractive women who expressed an interest in Allen. Allen’s attorney issued a statement to the effect that Allen filed a legal claim in hopes of putting an end to threats against him and his family, and that Allen was

Probation granted teen in alleged cyber bullying case

A girl from Liberal charged with harassment of other teens through a video she posted on Facebook pleaded guilty this week to an amended charge of peace disturbance and received probation.

Tariah Sprouls, 18, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offense Wednesday in Jasper County Circuit Court in a plea deal with the prosecutor’s office. Associate Judge Joe Hensley accepted the plea agreement and granted the defendant a suspended imposition of sentence with two years of probation.

Jasper police Chief Chad Karr originally sought felony charges against Sprouls in connection with a video that labeled more than a dozen males — both minors and adults living in Jasper and Barton counties — with a vulgar term for a male who sleeps with women without wanting a relationship or assuming any responsibility for their actions.

The prosecutor’s office charged her with misdemeanor counts of harassment instead and ended up allowing her to plead down to

Alleged Cyber Crime Kingpin Arrested in Belarus

One of Eastern Europe’s most prolific cyber criminals has been arrested in a joint operation involving Belarus, Germany and the United States that aimed to dismantle a vast computer network used to carry out financial scams, officials said on Tuesday.

National police in Belarus, working with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, said they had arrested a citizen of Belarus on suspicion of selling malicious software who they described as administrator of the Andromeda network.

Andromeda is made up of a collection of “botnets”, or groups of computers that have been infected with viruses to allow hackers to control them remotely without the knowledge of their owners, These networks were in turn leased to other criminals to mount malware or phishing attacks and other online scams.

Swedish-American cyber security firm Recorded Future said they have “a high degree of certainty” that the arrested Belarussian is “Ar3s”, a prominent hacker in the Russian speaking

Estonia arrests alleged Russian agent plotting cyber-crime

Estonia said Tuesday it had arrested a suspected Russian spy allegedly plotting a cyber-crime, in the latest incident to strain relations between the small Baltic state and the Kremlin.

The Estonian prosecutor general’s office said the unnamed man was suspected of working for Russia’s FSB Federal Security Service and of planning a cyber attack targeting state institutions.

“Right now we can say without revealing any details that we’ve managed to prevent serious damage,” Inna Ombler, the state prosecutor in charge of the investigation said in a statement.

Ombler added that the suspect’s activities were not connected to an unprecedented electronic ID-card security risk that recently hit the cyber-savvy country.

Dubbed “E-stonia”, the eurozone state of 1.3 million people is regarded as being one of the world’s most wired nations, with its citizens able to use electronic ID cards to access virtually all public services online via its vast “e-government” portal.

But as of
