CYBER bullies, stop!

Mollywood star Parvathy was in the news lately for the anguish she underwent because of cyber bullying. On expressing her disappointment at the misogyny shown in Mammooty’s film Kasaba, she was targeted by fans. The bullying went to the extent where she received rape threats too. Similarly Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma had to go through a similar ordeal when she was cyber-bullied on Twitter by cricket fans who blamed her for skipper Virat Kohli’s poor performance in 2015. Another incident, where Bollywood style icon Sonam Kapoor received a backlash when she Tweeted about her displeasure with the meat ban, also received nasty comments.

The Internet being free for all poses a huge problem when it comes to such cyber bullying incidents. Sandalwood actress Karunya Ram feels that a celebrity has to bear the brunt of fame. “Being a celebrity. I have come across many irrelevant, prejudiced statements which can turn hateful.

Ministry to add guidelines for teachers to punish cyber bullies

PUNISHMENTS for cyber bullying are among new additions into the disciplinary guidelines for teachers.

Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said the guidelines were being improved and updated.

“In the past, it did not touch on cyber bullying. Perhaps we can now include it so teachers can deal with students involved in such problems,” he told a press conference at SJK (T) Gelang Patah today.

Kamalanathan said society was facing cyber bullying cases and the ministry did not want this to affect school children.

Apart from punishments for cyber bullies, there will also be several other additions to the guideline, he said.

Kamalanathan said minister Mahdzir Khalid had also given his input for the guideline improvements.

“We will follow all the procedures in introducing the new punishments. It is important, as it involves students,” he said.

Last Wednesday, the National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) called on the ministry to provide new guidelines for teachers to

Houston woman responds to cyber bullies who told her to kill herself over makeup posts – KTRK

A Houston woman is proving to cyber bullies who told her to kill herself that makeup doesn’t define her as a person.

Victoria Katei, 19, is a student at Southern Methodist University and a beauty blogger.

She responded to online haters who accused her of lying about her looks after she posted photos of herself with and without makeup.

She said someone shared her photos on Twitter and asked people to comment on them.

“I was very surprised. She (the tweeter) went out of her way to get my pictures and ask people about me. I found it extremely strange. She could have come to me about it,” Katei said.

She said people accused her of being a “catfish,” and said that she’s hideous.

“People who want to say something are going to say something. So many people are saying that my foundation doesn’t match and that I’m trying to appear light-skinned, but if you look
