RALEIGH, N.C. – A Federal district court found a 57-year-old Hampton, Virginia man guilty after a three-day trial in Raleigh, North Carolina, which involved the harassment of multiple law enforcement personnel in the state.

William Scott Davis Jr. was convicted of cyber-stalking and communicating interstate threats, which stem from multiple fraud offenses in Wake County, North Carolina that he was charged and convicted of.

The multiple charges were brought to court by Wake County law enforcement in 2009 in relation to the forgery of his daughters birth certificate. Due to Davis being found guilty of these charges, his parental rights were terminated by the state as well.

Federal authorities in a press release said that Davis, ” initiated a relentless campaign of harassment and intimidation directed towards a female detective with Cary Police Department, and a female prosecutor with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, and a female attorney in Raleigh.”

A convicted Russian cybercriminal has been arraigned on federal cyber fraud charges associated with the 2008 hack and theft of banking credentials from RBS Worldpay.

ATLANTA – Roman Seleznev, of Vladivostok, Russia, has been arraigned on federal cyber fraud charges associated with the 2008 hack and theft of banking credentials from RBS Worldpay, a payment processing company located in Atlanta, Georgia. Seleznev was indicted by a federal grand jury on Dec. 22, 2014.

“In 2008, an American credit card processor was hacked in what was then the most sophisticated and organized computer fraud attack ever conducted,” said U. S. Attorney John Horn. “Using banking credentials stolen during the hack, a team of hackers and cashers in 280 cities around the world stole over $9 million dollars in only 12 hours from 2,100 ATMs worldwide. The defendant is alleged to have stolen over $2,000,000 as part of that scheme.”

Police: Man convicted in sextortion case has been questioned before

SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) – Police in Seekonk say a local man just convicted in a federal sextortion case has appeared on the law enforcement radar screen in the past.

David Ackell, 48, was found guilty of one count of interstate stalking by a jury at federal court in Concord, NH on Friday.

Target 12 requested any incident reports from the Seekonk Police Department that involved Ackell. In a response to the record request, Chief Craig Mace confirmed they have had two cases naming Ackell in the last six years, one is still active.

According to the 2010 police report, Ackell was questioned after a man from Canada said he discovered his teenage daughter had an online relationship with Ackell and was missing – he said he feared she had run away and was headed to see Ackell.

“It was unclear if the two have engaged in an inappropriate relationship,” the report states.

Man convicted in ‘sextortion’ of 16-year-old | FOX25

 

SEEKONK, N.H. – A Seekonk man has been convicted of stalking in a federal ‘sextortion’ case.

David Ackell was accused of threatening to send explicit photos of a teenage girl to her family and friends, if she didn’t do what he wanted.

Court documents say the victim was 16 when she started talking to the 48-year-old.

He will be sentenced in April.

Ackell was indicted in July 2015 and will be sentenced on April 17.

The charge of interstate cyberstalking carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, three years supervised release and a fine of $250,000, according to the press release.

Undeterred by blackmail: Teacher gets cyber crime accused convicted

LAHORE: A female schoolteacher of a small village in Kharian refused to make out-of-court settlement with her tormentor who uploaded her objectionable pictures on her Facebook account.

On Tuesday, she said her persistent standing against the cyber crime suspect was redeemed when an additional session judge, Lahore, handed down two-year imprisonment to him (Yasir Lateef) and also imposed a fine of Rs30,000 on charges of uploading her objectionable pictures on her Facebook account after hacking it in order to blackmail her.

Although the new cyber crime law – the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act – has been introduced in the country in August last, the court convicted him on the charges framed against him under the Electronic Transaction Ordinance as the case was registered in May.

Man Convicted of Cyber Stalking Teen Girl Harasses Her and Tries to Meet With Her at Starbucks 3 Years Later: Police

A Bucks County man who pleaded guilty to cyber stalking a teen girl was arrested again after he allegedly continued to harass her on social media and tried to meet with her at Starbucks.

Shane Holderer, 55, of Pipersville, Pennsylvania, was arrested Thursday and charged with harassment.

Holderer was convicted of stalking and harassing in a sexual manner a 13-year-old girl on social media between 2012 and 2013 and was sentenced to five years of probation with conditions that included no longer contacting her.

On September 25, 2016, the same girl reported to police that she was once again being stalked and harassed on Twitter. The teen said she noticed three days earlier that a user she did not recognize had retweeted one of her tweets.
