Hyderabad: Police arrests man for cyber-stalking girl

A day when Hyderabad was shocked with the incident of a jilted lover and stalker setting ablaze and killing a 25-year-old woman, the Cyberabad Police has arrested a person for cyber-stalking a girl.

The accused identified as 34-year-old Eerapuram Naresh Kumar alias Ravi alias Aravind Boyapati, a native of Mahaboob Nagar district of Telangana, was arrested for creating fake Facebook account and sending abusive messages and threatening the victim on the pretext of marriage.

The accused cyber-stalker was harassing the victim for the past two months by creating a fake Facebook account in her name.

“After victim deleted her Facebook id, the accused started calling her on her mobile phone and asked for marriage. When the girl refused, he started issuing threats to her. He was threatening girl that if she will not marry with him, he will kill her family members.” said a police officer of cybercrime department.

Hyderabad: Software employee held for ‘cyber stalking’ ex-woman colleague

The Hyberabad Police on Tuesday arrested a software employee here on charge of harassing his former woman colleague online after she spurned him and got married to another person.

The accused, Sandeep Kumar Gupta P, was arrested on charge of harassing the woman by creating a fake account on her name in a social networking site and uploading abusive messages as well as her phone number in an online classifieds network to project her as a call girl, an official release said.

“The accused also sent her emails with an intention to defame her as she rejected his love and got married to another person,” it said.

On Monday, the woman lodged a complaint with the Cyber Cell stating that there are some abusive emails sent on her name to all her relatives, friends and colleagues with fake email IDs.

Cyber crime: Two Nigerian arrested in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 4 (UNI) The Cyber Crime Police on Monday arrested two Nigerian nationals for their involvement in online crime.

The accused identified as Adeyemi Omotoyo Julis and Ayobe Happiness NMA, have made phishing web sites and were supplying tablets, bulk drugs without a Doctor’s prescription.
Moreover they were involved in hacking databases and diverting huge funds into fraudulent accounts.

However, two other Nigerians –Kelvin Ayo Oni and Abdul Rasheed Ademola Aminu, who are also involved in the crime, are absconding, a release said here.

The accused were operating a fake website in the name of Apollo pharma.

Five Nigerians held for online fraud in Hyderabad – Deccan Chronicle

Hyderabad: The cyber crime unit of Cyberabad arrested a five-member Nigerian gang for cheating under the pretext of selling a medical product on Saturday. 

The arrested accused were identified as Naagbo Benson Orayjuka,  Neharika alias Noori Deep Oroyjuka, Nilesh Umesh Kumar, Anaya Linus Egwuchulewu and Vchena Fidelis Vqwu. 

The gang has cheated in the name of products by cocodyma potogia, a dry nut used for medicines.

The arrest was made in Mumbai by the cyber crime unit based on a complaint from Kailash Choudhary, a businessman from Hyderabad, in which he stated that he contacted them via Facebook and ordered a sample for Rs 1.95 lakh. 

“They asked the victim to pay Rs 26 lakh and when the businessman refused, they stopped replying,” said cyber crime officials. A team was sent to arrest the gang and incriminating materials were recovered from them. A few members of the gang are absconding.

Cyber crime on the rise in Hyderabad; most fall prey to debit/credit card scams

HYDERABAD: Cyber crimes are steadily increasing in the state and the lone police station to deal with such cases in Hyderabad receives an average of 10 debit/credit card fraud reports on a daily basis.
Despite repeated warnings, people from all walks of life fall prey to scam calls, say police.
Other crimes like blackmailing on social media and phony advertisements on matrimonial websites are also witnessing an increasing trend. While the Marketing Intelligence Unit of the cyber crime wing has procedures in place to monitor online advertisements, but they are ill-equipped to deal with other crimes — like cyber bullying.

Hyderabad: Cyber Crime Cell arrests two for harassing woman

Hyderabad: The cyber crime cell in Cyberabad, Hyderabad arrested two for sending abusive messages and outraging the modesty of the complainant.

The accused persons have been identified as Alapati Shivaiah age 35 years, Managing Director of Hyma consultancy and another woman aged 30 years, Tele caller of Hyma Consultancy.

The victim working as a pharma executive in Hyderabad lodged a complaint wherein she stated that she was an ex-employee at the Hyma Consultancy along with the woman accused and was staying in the hostel.

The complainant suspected the accused tele caller made a recording of the victim while she was changing her clothes on the order of Sivaiah.

While checking the laptop of the accused, the videos of the victim were found.

The two accused were traced and arrested by Inspector of Police Cyber Crimes, Cyberabad Ravinder Reddy and team.
