The National Center for Education and Bureau of Justice Statistics show that 28% Of U.S students in Middle grade have been bullied.

High school shows to be no different, 20% of U.S Students have been bullied.

Students tackle scourge of cyber bullying with videos

Event MC Const. Dave Marynuik, a school resource officer in St. Catharines, said the students were taking a stance against cyber bullying by taking part in the competition. He urged them to challenge other students, even their friends, if they see them bullying others electronically.

“These words are hurtful and they affect someone for the rest of their lives,” he said. “You need to take a stand to protect people.

“What you guys have put together is absolutely amazing.”

Const. Dennis Andree, organizer of this year’s event, said cyber bullying was chosen for this year because bullying via social media has become so commonplace. He hopes the videos will help to nip destructive cyber bullying in the bud by getting young people to think of the damage they’re causing to others.

“You can’t unsend it,” he said. “Our focus is to stop it before it starts. (It’s) the scars you can see.”

Along those lines,

Drive kicked off to sensitise students about sexual violence

New Delhi: Adolescence is a complex issue — and with little or no knowledge of sexual abuse, it can have serious implications, including legal consequences. For an easier understanding of the laws, consequences and remedies related to the issue, a much-needed drive covering all city schools was launched on Thursday.

Delhi High Court acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal — who is also the chairperson of the Delhi State Legal Services Authority — conceived the idea of preparing a module on sexual violence for school students in the 14-18 years age group .

“The idea is to make children aware of the various forms of sexual violence so that they can distinguish right from the wrong, and legal from the illegal. It will also help spread a word of caution in case they are themselves indulging in such activities
